The Contrivian Big Network merger is complete. Two companies are now one vertically integrated, software-led provider of mission-critical connectivity, hardware, software, and service, delivered as one managed solution.
Hear from Grant Kirkwood and Tom Daly on what the merger changes, and why owning the software at the center of the solution matters.
"The merger fundamentally changes what Contrivian is and what we're capable of becoming. Nobody else has this software, because nobody else built it for this. The Big Network software was engineered from the ground up for intelligent, multimodal, mission-critical connectivity, and it now lives inside our platform and nowhere else. Software, hardware, carrier and engineering now work as one system. It's a network engineer in a box, and that's what lets us move faster, serve more customers and scale Contrivian as demand for mission-critical connectivity keeps growing."
CEO & Founder, Contrivian
"Failover means failure has already happened. Traditional architectures wait for the primary connection to degrade or go down before moving traffic to a backup. We continuously measure every available path across fiber, wireless and LEO satellite and optimize traffic according to real-time performance. That makes separate connections behave as one system, reducing the brief outages and performance gaps associated with traditional failover."
Principal Technologist, Contrivian
Connectivity, hardware, software, and service brought together as one managed solution, instead of separate third-party products stitched together.
Multiple connections run at once across fiber, broadband, LTE/5G, and LEO. Traffic steers on real-time performance, adjusting before disruption rather than after it.
Contrivian now owns the technology at the center of its solution, with a scalable model reaching more than 160 countries through more than 600 carrier relationships.
The Contrivian Big Network merger makes Contrivian a vertically integrated connectivity provider. Big Network's proprietary networking software now lives inside the Contrivian Platform, and owning that technology is what lets the company build faster and scale.
The combined company serves enterprise and government customers in more than 160 countries through more than 600 carrier relationships, with 24x7 operations across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. Available now.

On July 21, 2026, Contrivian completed its merger with Big Network, creating the industry's first vertically integrated multi-modal connectivity platform. It brings connectivity, hardware, software, and service together as one managed solution for enterprise and government, available now.
Big Network is a software innovator focused on ultra-reliable networking. Its proprietary networking software now lives inside the Contrivian Platform, giving Contrivian ownership of the technology at the center of its solution: multi-path transport, orchestration, and edge software. That ownership is what lets the company develop faster and scale.
Legacy architectures keep a primary connection and a secondary connection, and move traffic only after the primary degrades or drops. Contrivian runs every connection at once and continuously steers traffic across fiber, broadband, LTE/5G, and LEO based on real-time performance, adjusting before disruption rather than reacting after it.
Services continue without interruption. The combined solution is available now, and customers gain a broader roadmap and a single accountable partner across hardware, software, connectivity, and service.
No. Big Network is now part of Contrivian, and its technology is integrated across the Contrivian Platform, delivered through Contrivian Lighthouse™, Contrivian NorthStar™, Contrivian Horizon™, and Contrivian Constellation™.
Contrivian Constellation™ operates multiple LEO networks active-active as one managed service. As an authorized reseller of Starlink and Amazon Leo, Contrivian delivers true satellite-layer diversity alongside terrestrial connectivity.
